Hi, welcome to my website!

Here is a little about me and my work.

I paint figurative images using vibrant and flowing brushwork on glass. I aim to find a balance between form and colour with fluid lines that capture the shape of the subject. The intended result is an image made beautiful and striking through the purity and simplicity of its shape and execution.

I aim to create slightly surreal, magical works that tell a story in a very simple way.

I explore the boundaries between the real and the mythical/imaginary through colourful depictions of animals, flora and mythical creatures. Nature and Myths, to me are beautiful and resilient yet fragile. Glass, being breakable illustrates that fragility. Using glass as a canvas is also my way of capturing and preserving these elements that inspire me.

For me, the glass acts as a portal which simultaneously brings the viewer into my world and yet keeps that world separate from ours.

I started painting on glass as an experiment; as I don’t usually paint a background, the use of glass works very well. You can see through and around the subject painted which create a wonderfully spacious, clear and slightly ethereal effect.

I want to feel like the subjects I paint are “preserved” in the glass, like an insect trapped in amber that has been keep intact for thousands of years.

The fact that glass is breakable also encourages people to treat the artwork with special care and respect.
