Two for Joy
Acrylic on glass
11x16cm
Playing on the popular English saying regarding magpies: "One for sorrow, two for joy". I learned about this expression recently as we don't have this saying in France. I knew that magpies are attracted to shiny objects and I added the orange and blue dot clusters to make it look like sparkling jewels. There is actually a magpie nesting in my neighbours tree at the moment and I see her flying to and from it from the kitchen window. I've gotten into the habit of watching her when I'm having breakfast in the morning.
