Floundering
Acrylic on glass
11x16cm
Please note this piece comes framed and ready to hang.
For this piece I wanted to create a contrast between the size of the frame and the animal depicted so I picked a blue whale. The title refers to the endangered nature of a lot of marine animals.
As I’ve mentioned before, I love drawing/painting curves; this piece was so much fun to create and I’m pleased with the sense of movement; it looks like the whale really is floundering and trying to find space within the tiny frame.
I also love using different shades of blue with the rose gold frames, the colours compliment each other so well.
